Have a Safe St Patrick's Day!

This weekend, when celebrating St Patrick's Day, be sure to plan ahead to help keep the roads safer.

If you plan on attending a party or event, designate a driver who will volunteer to not drink, or find alternative means to get home. On most holidays the buses run later, or you can group together and get a taxi with a ton of friends.

Also, remember that buzzed driving is drunk driving. Everyone reacts differently to different amounts of alcohol, what doesn't effect someone else, may strongly effect you.

As for the legal limits, to remain under the legal amount of BAC remember the following.

The legal limit is usually... One 1oz shot of liquor, One 12 oz glass of beer, One 5 oz glass of wine.

Here is a scary fact: "On St. Patrick's Day 2009, 37 percent of the drivers and motorcyclists involved in fatal crashes had a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .08 or above, according to statistics by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). "
