Product Description
Austin, Texas based Ringo Deathstarr are pleased to announce the release of their debut album, Colour Trip, on Sonic Unyon Records. The band, formed in 2007, channels the influences of The Cure, The Smiths, Fugazi, and The Velvet Underground, and have recently supported acts such as the Dandy Warhols, A Place to Bury Strangers, and Secret Machines. Colour Trip recalls the pop thrill and sonic squall of prime time Mary Chain or Strawberry Wine era MBV, and has already been lauded by the likes of Pitchfork and Nylon. Ringo Deathstarr are: Elliott Frazier (guitars and vocals), Alex Gehring (bass and vocals), and Daniel Coborn (drums).

My Review
Ringo Deathstarr is a trippy little band with funky music and really interesting vocals. I like that this band is more focused on how the music comes across versus being more focused on the lyrics and vocals. I think the female singer has a sweet sounding voice and the male singer had a deeper voice that offsets her sweet voice.

I really enjoy the songs "I'm so high" and "Weekend Dudes". I think these are both fun songs that make you want to rock out. It's proof that the main focus of the band is their musical style.

Something about this band's music just reaches out and grabs you. Listeners are instantly drawn to the addictive sounds but also to their uniqueness. The female singer has a sweet indie sounding voice but it's also powerful in its own way. The male vocalist's singing voice is deep and adds a nice balance to the sweetness of the female singer.

This is the type of music you will want to play when you need a boost of energy or just want to get a little inspired.

This band is definitely one to watch and you really want to pick up their album. Overall I give this album a five lantern rating. This band is awesome and I can't wait to hear more from them. Definitely give them a listen.
