Synopsis:
When it comes to relationships, Remy doesn't mess around. After all, she's learned all there is to know from her mother, who's currently working on husband number five. But there's something about Dexter that seems to defy all of Remy's rules. He certainly doesn't seem like Mr. Right. For some reason, however, Remy just can't seem to shake him. Could it be that Remy's starting to understand what those love songs are all about? From acclaimed author Sarah Dessen, this is a captivating novel about a tough-as-nails girl and the unexpectedly charming boy who's determined to soften her up.
My Review:
This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen reminded me of one of those amazing Chick Flicks that just causes this aching sensation in your heart. This Lullaby was a beautifully told story.

The main character Remy started off as sounding bitter. Her overall personality really added to the story line, in the end her bitterness was a way of showing how the past had affected her personality until adulthood.

The story progressed understandably. The meeting of Dexter and Remy seemed a bit off at first, but I understood why. Dexter is that outspoken confident, geeky looking guy. It's only natural their meeting be extremely random. Dexter was so interesting to read about, the way he was able to push Remy's buttons, and cause a subtle but slight change in her. Dexter was the perfect main guy character for this book.

This Lullaby took an often talked about topic in romance, the fear and risks of love, and took this topic to a whole other level. Sarah Dessen did a great job in showing how scared Remy really was, and how she had been hiding all of that underneath her many, many boyfriends.

By the end of this novel, I found myself almost shouting at the characters. It's so easy to let you heart get involved in the story. I like to think of this book, as well as other Sarah Dessen novels, as Romance novels without too much sex; very romantic and heartwarming.

Overall I give This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen 4 lanterns. This book had all of the elements of a romantic chick lit story.
