| Interview with the band Think Twice Dublin! Posted: 14 Jul 2011 11:06 PM PDT  Hi Think Twice Dublin, thank you so much for joining us here on Truth Be Told. I am so excited to feature all of you today. Let's get started! How did the band form? - Though we've played together in a variety of bands for several years, this group was actually originally formed just to compete in a battle of the bands. We had so much fun with it, though, that we kept going with it.  Tell us a little about the band and your music.- We all really like the idea of minimalism and repetition, so a lot of the music is just that. Musically we really enjoy playing with counter melodies, song structure, and poly-rhythms. We feel that our best music is written together as a group; song writing begins and ends when rehearsal does. A band's name always seems to have some kind of meaning or funny story to it, what is it that sparked the idea for the name, Think Twice Dublin? -There's actually no story behind it. We had to sign up for a show and needed a name, that was all we had at the time. Your music is a pretty interesting blend, there is a unique instrumental sound but the vocals are almost psychedelic in a way. I really enjoy it. What kind of bands/artists influenced your sound, or helped inspire your sound?  -Thanks! We take influence from anywhere we can find it, but we particularly like bands like Deerhoof, SPOON, and Beach House. Tell me what we can expect from you guys in the next year or so? Any interesting shows? Working on new music? -Because we're all still in school, we're mostly working on new material, though we should be playing around State College occasionally. So when you're not playing music (each of you), what do you enjoy doing?  What makes your group stand out amongst other up and coming artists? -Our deeply collaborative writing process gives each of us a creative voice in the music, allowing us to come up with ideas that we wouldn't explore otherwise. If you could play a show with any band, which would it be? Why? -We just got back from seeing Deerhoof at NXNE, and that was an incredible show, so for now we'd have to go with them.
