Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt - My Experience

I wrote this post while participating in a blog tour conducted by Clever Girls on behalf of Dannon. I have been compensated for my time commitment to the program but my opinions are my own.

For more information and recipe ideas, visit www.oikosyogurt.com or www.Facebook.com/oikos. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do.

Today I am very excited to be sharing my opinion on Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt. When I received the opportunity to try out this new line I couldn't wait to get started. I have always enjoyed Greek Yogurt but had no idea Dannon had their own version out.

In case you don't know, Greek Yogurt originally started in Greece (Duh!). It is pretty much the same as yogurt but after the yogurt is made it goes through a separation process where the whey liquid is removed. Dannon® Oikos® is created through an authentic Greek straining process which gives it a rich and creamy-thick texture. Greek Yogurt uses about 3 times more milk than regular yogurt.

I personally love purchasing plain yogurt and adding a little bit of granola and raw honey. The Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt completely met and exceeded my expectation. The yogurt was creamy, rich and is nonfat! Dannon® Oikos® Plain and Fruit on the Bottom contains 0% fat, while the Dannon® Oikos® traditional blended varieties contains about 3% fat. Both are an excellent source of protein, twice that of most regular low-fat yogurts.

One product I was excited to try was the 4pack of drinkable yogurt. I bought the vanilla/honey flavor. The drinkable yogurt is low in fat but it's great for people on the go.

I was so excited to see that the Dannon website also has great recipes that use the oikos yogurt in ways that regular yogurt might not be able to be used. I'm looking forward to trying out the Edamole Dip recipe.

I also think it's great that Dannon and Stonyfield have paired together to offer Organic Oikos Yogurt as well.

I will definitely be stopping by the grocery store for more of the Oikos Yogurt. This snack is not only great on its own but also useful in the kitchen.

Have any of you tried the Dannon Oikos Yogurt? What did you think? Do you have a certain way you like to enjoy it?

Disclosure: I have partnered with Dannon to help promote the Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt Series.  I have been compensated for my time commitment to the program, which includes writing about the promotion and product.  However, my opinions are entirely my own and I have not been paid to publish positive comments.
