AdWords is Google’s paid search and display advertising network. These are the ads you see at the top of the page and to the right when you search on Google and they are also the ads you see on many blogs and websites who are part of the Google AdSense network. AdWords is the largest advertising provider online and can be an excellent source of traffic to your Etsy shop or website. Can I set-up AdWords and run ads myself? Adwords runs on very powerful software and sometimes it can be a bit intimidating, but it’s not as hard as it looks! Some of the key rules to selling online apply to setting up your ads:
The first page you see when you open an AdWords account has a number of helpful videos, and Google offers help over the phone as well. Here is a link to the AdWords beginners guide. That said, AdWords isn’t for the complete newbie. You’ll want to know your way around the web pretty well and understand search, stats, and your own shop at a good level to get the most of AdWords.
