My Review
I have had this book on my shelf for quite some time, but I just never really got around to picking it up and reading it. I'm glad I did eventually get to it. Angel Star has a very interesting story line that you can't help but fall into.

The different settings in this book are easy to imagine, they become familiar even. There is one place in Angel Star, that the characters continually go to, The Old Church. This church was described as having no roof, but with stained glass windows, and growing vines. The church was described in such a way that you felt emotionally drawn to it. I liked that about this author's writing. It was like she not only weaved the setting but she also attached strong emotions to it.

This book was all about character growth. Everything that happens in this book spans out mostly in eight days. Yet, by the end of that eighth day the main character, tegan, is completely different. It's as if she has grown up and matured by the end of the entire ordeal. The character growth was my favorite thing to read about, honestly. Every bit of this seemed believeable. The way the character responded to death, the way she tried to hide things from her mother, it was so easy to follow.

While I liked that this was a shorter book, set in a shorter time frame, I almost wish there were a few areas that were drawn out. I wanted to read more about her best friend and more about Ryan's involvement in all of it.

The author has an interesting way of writing; she has a unique way of describing setting and showing character emotions.

Overall, Angel Star receives three lanterns from Truth Be Told. This is an interesting paranormal/angel love story. It's fast paced and an easy, lite, read. I will definitely be adding the sequel to my wishlist.
