Possible China, Southeast Asia Concerts

There is an article about Libera's Christmas Album by Access Music's online magazine which you can read here. The most interesting part is the last line -

"Tour plans for 2012 include performances in China, Japan and Southeast Asia."

Awesome news! My guess is this will be in April before their 2 Tokyo concerts. China - can you guess what city? Southeast Asia - can you guess what city? Or cities? :) Can't wait to hear more!

EMI Japan just announced that Libera will be having concerts there next April! Wow! So much advanced notice!

April 13, 2012 (Friday) at Orchard Hall at 7:00 p.m.

Libera on Japanese TV April 2010

Back on April 8 & July 12, 2010 we had posted about Libera's appearance on a Japanese TV show called NTV Don. They were there while on their Japanese tour in April 2010. Someone named peanutsac133 has now posted a full 14 minutes of the show on YouTube! Thanks to Kazuyo (necooook) for the link!

First, I've never seen a show with so many hosts. I count 9 of them! Maybe all their reporters came in to the studio for the day to meet Libera. :)

Next is a part we've never seen before except a little on Libera's official tour video. It is a great introductory profile of Libera with highlights of past performances and songs. It shows them arriving at Narita Airport, on the tour bus in Japan playing with toys and Ponyos, at Toyko Tower and shopping. At 0:57 and 2:35 I see our friend, Yuki! :D And is that Mina talking to Ben at 1:04?! I can't tell for sure. 1:14 has a cute picture of Jonathan, Michael Vereycken, Callum, Josh and Michael Horncastle from their April 2007 Japan Tour. It even has great Japanese commercials! I don't understand a word, but they are so fun to watch!

Then Ben and Ralph sing "Far Away" along with Kavana, James T., Jakob, Josh, Stefan, Daniel and Mini James while feathers float down. Wow! They all look so young! Well, it WAS 1.5 years ago! lol. Back then I thought they sounded jet lagged or something, but now that I watch this video, I think that in person they probably sounded great. You can tell the sound quality is just not very good on the TV. And Kavana was hitting those high notes!

I don't understand much of the interview part. It looks like the boys don't either. The interviewers laugh and make jokes, and the boys just smile politely. Someone asks what do they do when their voice changes. Ralph answers, "Well, some of us will stay in the choir, but not all the time. There are some people who don't once their voice breaks. But they often visit, so they're not completely gone." Aw. That's such a nice answer.

Ben leads the boys in a little of the "Ponyo" song with awesome harmonies. Daniel gets the hosts to sing a little which makes the hosts laugh at themselves, and Ben speaks a little Japanese for them. :D Then we see the weather for that day! Ha! Great video! Thanks for bringing back great memories. Hopefully they'll be in Japan again in April 2012, and we'll get to see videos like this with lots of newbies there, too! :)

Libera Japan Tour April 2012

According to EMI Japan, Libera plans on touring Japan in April 2012. So Japan may have to wait a year, but this is great news for them! Hope it works out for them to go! Read about it here. Thank you to Hagy for the good news! And if you've ever wanted to visit Japan, 2012 may be the year for you! The sakura (cherry) trees are blooming in April! :D

Japan Earthquake & Tsunami

Update: Libera just posted on their Blog, Facebook and Twitter:

"Our thoughts and prayers are with our friends in Japan as the news of the earthquake and tsunami emerges."

An 8.9 magnitude earthquake hit Japan just off the east coast of Honshu about 12 hours ago. I was tweeting with Yuki from Tokyo at the time. She was able to walk home from work. A tsunami then stuck the coast. Especially hard hit was the city of Sendai, which Libera visited in April 2009. I know Hagy is safe but frightened. We are praying for the safety of all and the rescue efforts.

2010 - The Year in Review

This video was just posted by snowy0155 from Japan, and I love, love, love it! It's a review of all the Libera concerts that she went to in 2010! She has scenes from the Narita Airport in Tokyo and the concerts in Tokyo, Seoul, Manila, Arundel, Dallas, Ft. Worth, St. Louis, London and Beverly! Sorry I didn't get to meet her in Nashville or Atlanta, but my mom says she met her in St. Louis! What a great fan, and what a great review of Libera in 2010!

Japan Spring 2010 Tour TV Appearance

Back on April 8 I linked to a video of Libera's appearance on a Japanese TV show called NTV Don. I didn't link to another video of them actually singing on the show because it was so blippy. Well, someone posted a VERY clear video. Thank you! It's so great to see the 9 guys close up. Ralph seems a little nervous (possibly jetlagged), but his voice is still beautiful. His singing in "The Fountain" is one of my favorites! Mini Ben does a great job as well. And is that Kavana singing the high notes in this video?! Excellent! The feathers falling is a nice touch, too!  :)

The Japanese fans seem to be so nice. And don't the boys look so happy and energetic? Wow! They don't seem to be suffering from jetlag at all. Next stop - Korea!

Japan Tour 2010

Libera's Spring Tour starts in Japan today! This is a slightly blippy video of their appearance on a Japanese TV show called NTV Don. It seems like their interpreter isn't quite fast enough for the host's comments, so most of the time the boys just stand there smiling trying to figure out what's going on. The lady standing just to the left of the host near the end of the video has a really funny hat on which gave me a good laugh. The funniest part of the video for me was when they asked someone to try and speak Japanese. Josh decided to give it a shot, much to the audience's humor. Well, good for him for trying! All of the boys look like they just got new haircuts, especially Josh, who in earlier videos had his hair in his eyes. They all look great!

There's another video of them singing "Far Away" on this show, but the video quality is even poorer. It's so cool that they get to spend their school breaks traveling to exotic places. It's hard work, but I bet they have a lot of fun, too. They sure MAKE it look fun. Have a great tour, Libera!
